We recently received a message about what to do at a driving range. Where do you get the golf balls? How long should we be there? We plan for the driving range like we plan for going to the gym! Watch and let’s discuss!
A few quick tips:
Don't be nervous or worry about anyone around you. Everyone is at the driving range to get better.
Upon arrival, walk into the pro shop and ask how you can purchase a bucket of golf balls for the driving range.
Once you're out there, it's up to you how you'd like to use your time! I typically split the bucket of balls into sets of five and switch clubs after I have hit each set. I start with my wedges (W) and work my way through the irons (for me, that's 9 to 6-iron) and then hit my hybrids, followed by metalwoods and finally the driver.
Practice as you would play. Take a practice swing, line up your shot and then hit the ball! A tip for lining up your shot: Identify a spot in the distance you want to aim for. Then find something about 10-12 inches in front of you that falls in line with that spot in the distance. Finally, aim your club face toward that spot and line up your feet parallel to that.
