fore the ladies finds

volume 3, issue 1

“… any type of way that I can help push women's golf forward, I feel like this is a great stage to do it on. I'm just a small part of it.” Nelly Korda, the only female player in this year’s PNC Championship, a father-child/mother-child event for invited major champions

Hi there!

Happy New Year! Can you believe we’re entering year 3 of Fore the Ladies newsletters?! Of FTL in general?! Let’s do this thing.

There’s a lot in store for FTL in 2022. We have events on the calendar through June. Two golf getaways and maybe adding a third (no spoilers yet!). Evolving how we help you connect with more friendly and welcoming golfers in your area. All the things! It’s been such a fun experience for me and so many amazing people who support FTL to bring more women into golf and I’m stoked to be doing that even more this year. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or this is your first experience with golf (hi! welcome!), we’re so happy to have you.

With that, let’s dive in to the next edition of Fore the Ladies Finds brought to you by me, Sara and Kristen!

january finds

fitting

I started playing golf 5 years ago with a half-set of irons, and I think the time has come to get an 8 iron. Because more than one caddy has now asked me, "where the heck is your 8 iron!?". This winter I am going to a local club fitter to have them work their magic. Results to come later this year! -sara

PS - Abby added this photo of Sara’s first ace at Pinehurst Resort on The Cradle. Didn’t need her 8-iron there.

wearing

The bright ombré of the latest RLX collection has me dreaming about warm weather. Some sizes are on sale at Trendy golf for both the skort (linked) and the down puffer jacket, which will absolutely warm up a winter round! -kristen

relaxing

This lady likes to get her beauty rest and when she doesn’t because of an 8 a.m. tee time, she needs a little help perking up. This ice roller is truly a gift. I massage all over my face and neck before putting on my skincare and feel more refreshed (and awake). -abby

rebooting

I always pull out this cookbook over the winter when I need to tone down my indulgences (looking at you, cheese plate for dinner). All the recipes in here are delicious and easy to follow. -sara

all the #content

There’s so much #golfcontent out there these days, so I wanted to share some of the things I’ve been reading, watching and listening to this winter. -abby

  • Following Tori Totlis on Instagram. Her content is hilarious, relatable and helpful, and her resources on her website are going to improve my game.

  • Reading Beth Ann Nichols’ article in Golfweek about what she hopes to see on the LPGA in 2022. Beth Ann is my go-to resource for all things women’s golf.

  • Listening to the 2021 LPGA Year-in-Review with yours truly and Justin on the Fore the Ladies Mixed Bag podcast. We make our predictions for 2022, too!

  • This multimedia piece about Gina Kim by Jordan Perez of the Fire Pit Collective. Playing college golf is no joke and now add trying to turn professional in the midst of your senior year. What a journey. What a comeback.

  • We can’t wait to play the OG, course No. 1, at Pinehurst Resort during The Lily. The No Laying Up guys teed it up and shared their experience, which you can watch here.

wearing

The layering look of this cold weather vest brings the fashion rating up a notch. I find Sweaty Betty to run tts and is incredible quality. Plus, all sale is an additional 20% off! -kristen

sipping

I got one of these as a gift, but I fully endorse the "cutest yeti you'll ever see" coffee cup! Perfect to keep your coffee warm whether at your desk, or walking with your pushcart. -sara

playing

There is one item I wear during every winter round - my FootJoy winter golf gloves. Hands down my winter "must have" that makes any chilly day considerably more enjoyable. -kristen
